Scouting Weekend – August 26 & 27

By order of his Majesty, King Henry has declared that all who have served as a Boy or Girl Scout may come to the festival in their uniforms and receive $5 off their admission ticket.

 

 

 

 


Blood Drive – August 19 & 20

Memorial Blood Centers and MN Renaissance Festival have partnered once again to bring you the Annual Blood Drive. Come during Opening Weekend, Aug. 19-20, present to donate blood, and receive FREE ADMISSION to the Festival!

Bloodmobiles will be located near King’s Gate, 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.

**Walk-in donors will be accepted subject to availability**

 

All presenting donors will receive 1 FREE TICKET for entrance into the Festival. Donors must be present AT the Renaissance Festival blood drives on Aug. 19 & 20. No other blood drives or donor centers are included in this promotion. Bring ID. Eat before donating. No cold or flu symptoms for 72 hours. All prizes hold no cash value and are non-transferable.

***Any donors that happen to feel ill after donating are strongly encouraged to return to the bloodmobiles, so that MBC staff can provide the care needed***


Sign Language Saturday – September 16th

The Minnesota Renaissance Festival welcomes you to Sign Language Saturday. American Sign Language interpreters will be on the Festival grounds all day interpreting stage acts, front gate operations, Royal Daily Events and much more!

Mural Competition – August 19 & 20

If you have ever dreamed of creating a work of art and having it displayed to the public, this is the perfect opportunity for you. Get creative and show off your artistic skills by painting and submitting a unique Renaissance-themed mural! Pieces entered into the competition will be hung up and presented to the public – everyone who enters the Festival will witness your craft!

FREE to enter! Additionally, you will receive 2 FREE Admission tickets for participating.

Murals can be dropped off at the following times: Friday, Aug. 18 from 12-5 p.m.

Opening Weekend – Aug. 19-20 from 9-5 p.m.All murals should be dropped off at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival site. Use the entrance off HWY 41. There will be signs directing you to where they need to be dropped off.Be sure your name and age is in the bottom right corner of your mural.Your tickets will be at Will Call (outside King’s Gate) under the name on your application for pick-up.

Grand Prize: $250 cash, 2018 Season Pass and Renaissance T-shirt

Deadlines: Forms are due by Aug. 18. Murals are due Aug. 19.

Fairy House Competition – August 26 & 27

 

All patrons, big and small, are invited to make your own unique Fairy House! Be creative and build a wonderful place for our winged friends to live. Share it with us at our Once Upon a Time Weekend, Aug. 26-27.

Cupcake Battle – September 9 & 10

Grab your apron. Shine your spoons. Fluff your batter! Join us for our annual Cupcake Battle to see whose clever mixing of sugar and frosting will claim victory this year! We’re looking for the most delicious cupcake in the entire Realm!

Longbow Competition – August 26 & 27

Come one! Come all! Show off your steady hand and deliberate aim at our annual Longbow Competition! Eliminate all of your competitors to see if you’ve got what it takes. Only the best will be awarded the highest of honors and bragging rights among their fellow archers.

Fantasy Mask Competition – August 26 & 27

Exquisite designs hide mischievous secrets. Show us your creativity in our annual Fantasy Mask competition where any and all materials are acceptable. This includes but not limited to: paint, beads, feathers, latex, clay, leather and so much more! Once your masterpiece is finished bring it with you during our Once Upon a Time Weekend where you’ll be asked to model it on the Pavilion Stage!

Prizes will be awarded to the judges’ favorites for both categories: Adult & Child

Kid’s Craft Corner

This season, be on the lookout for the Coloring Station at Kids Craft Corner sponsored by Crayola Experience! Coloring sheets and crayons will be provided for kids at the station all day, every day of the Festival.


Bloomers & Tights 5k – Whether they be goofy or intricate we want to see EVERYBODY’S BLOOMERS as they run themselves to victory during our Renaissance 5K!

Belly Dance Competition – September 2, 3 & 4

Sway your hips and move your feet in an exotic dance that entices the crowd in our annual Belly Dance Competition! (Lessons will also be available during this weekend). Check back with us for times!

Bocce Ball Tournament – September 2, 3 & 4

Grab your family and friends and join us for a fun afternoon of Bocce Ball! Compete to be the best bocce ball player of the Realm by registering your team. Cost is $40 per team of four $25 per team of two. Register by August 31st to receive free admission for each team member!

Magic the Gathering Tournament – September 4

For the sixth year, the Renaissance Festival will feature a Magic the Gathering tournament hosted by Dreamers Vault Games on Friday at the Blue Lion Tavern! For $15, all gamers will receive one booster of Amonkhet and two packs of Hour of Devastation. The top finishers will receive prizes!

Bean Bag Competition

Find out who the best backyard bean bag player is in our Bean Bag Toss Tournament! Tournament starts at 2:00 p.m. in the Shepherd’s Green Field! Please show up 15 minutes prior to register. Prizes will be awarded to the top team!

Coloring Book Contest

Three Cheers for the Renaissance Coloring Book!!

We received so many amazing coloring book submissions and for the second year in a row we have for you an amazing Coloring Book! Featuring artists from Minnesota, Michigan and the Bay Area we have 31 collective works of art that you can color and share to your heart’s content!

Congratulations for all who were selected to be in the coloring book!”

More details about next year’s competition will be available on the website by February 1st, 2018. Until then, enjoy the Renaissance Festival! And look for the coloring book in any of our Merchandise Booths during the Festival weekends.
